Welcome to Father Charlie and Frances Vensel
After a long and prayerful search for our new rector, Christ the King Church celebrates the arrival of Father Charlie Vensel and his wife, Frances, to our congregation!
Charlie is a native of Jacksonville, FL. He and Frances met in 1987 and married in 1991. Both are graduates of The University of North Florida. They have two adult children, Sam and Ellie. Charlie was a serial entrepreneur in both the restaurant and landscape industries. He came to faith in 1998 and shortly thereafter, received a call to ministry. He attended seminary at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, FL where he earned his M.Div. degree.
Putting his entrepreneurial skills to work in his calling, Charlie planted, merged, and pastored churches in Florida, Colorado, South Carolina, and now Georgia, where he accepted the call to be the Rector of Christ the King Church in the fall of 2022. Charlie describes his calling as, “Helping people discover who God made them to be…and how to get there.”
He enjoys college football, a large & diverse music collection, gardening, and being outdoors in the North Georgia Mountains.
Please welcome them to Hiawassee and into our church family! Fr. Charlie’s Institution as rector will occur during the bishops visit to Christ the King Church on February 5, 2023.
