What is World Mission Sunday?

Published February 7, 2026

World Mission Sunday (WMS) is always the second to the last Sunday in Epiphany, where we, like the wise men, are awakened to the reality that Jesus is the Messiah for all nations, tongues, and tribes. In general, Epiphany, and in particular, WMS, is a time to consider what our roles might be in making the Kingdom of God a reality for those that don’t yet know Jesus personally.

It is a fitting time to consider supporting ministries, missionaries, and seminarians with prayer, finances, and volunteer time, as well as praying that the Lord would provide opportunities to share our faith with our family, friends, and neighbors.
